Luanda, Angola — Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Luanda, Angola, to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 7th African Union–European Union Summit. This important gathering brings together leaders from Africa and Europe to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and partnership between the two continents.
Upon his arrival, Shettima was briefed by Nigeria’s top diplomats, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, along with ambassadors and diplomatic officials based in Addis Ababa, Brussels, and Luanda. The briefing provided him with detailed information to prepare for the upcoming discussions on key global and African issues.
Over the next two days, Shettima will join other leaders from the African Union and European Union to talk about shared priorities. These include peace and security, climate change, trade, the digital economy, inclusive development, and opportunities for young people and innovators.
Nigeria’s participation shows the government’s strong commitment to active international diplomacy and ensuring that Africa’s voice is heard in global conversations. The summit is an important step for Nigeria in promoting cooperation and development across Africa and Europe.
