Suspected bandits launched a deadly overnight attack on three neighboring villages in Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State, kidnapping a total of twenty-one residents. The communities of Sundu, Biresawa, and Masaurari were caught off guard as the attackers struck in the dead of night.
In Sundu, two women were abducted, leaving their families heartbroken and the entire community deeply alarmed. Not far away in Biresawa, the bandits seized five women and two children, spreading fear among villagers. The most severe attack happened in Masaurari, where nine men and one woman were kidnapped, bringing the total number of victims to twenty-one—comprising nine men, eight women, and two children.
The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the incident and assured the public that rescue efforts are ongoing and have been stepped up. Security forces, including vigilante groups and other agencies, have been deployed to patrol the forests and search escape routes, hoping to track down the kidnappers and rescue the captives safely.
Despite the heavy fear hanging over the villages, residents remain hopeful. They trust in the relentless efforts of security forces and community members working together to find the abducted persons and restore peace. The police have also called on residents to provide credible information that could help in the rescue operations and bring the kidnappers to justice.
The community and security agencies are united in their resolve to end this threat and ensure the safety of everyone in the area.
