In a swift response to a security threat, authorities intercepted two large trailers carrying more than 550 passengers at Numan Bridge in Adamawa State. The trailers, which had been traveling through the area, were immediately escorted out of the state and did not continue their journey.

The vehicles made a U-turn and returned in the direction they came from, avoiding further movement into Adamawa. The registration numbers of these trailers are NNY-236-XA from Yobe State and GAS-330-XA from Taraba State.

Interestingly, about half of the travelers are not from Nigeria—they are from Chad and Niger Republic. The remaining passengers are from Nigerian states including Yobe and Katsina. The passengers could not give a clear reason for their mass movement, which raised serious security concerns among authorities.

A combined team of immigration, police, and military personnel quickly intervened. They escorted the group back to the Adamawa-Gombe boundary and ordered them to return to their point of origin until further clarification can be obtained.

Authorities have praised the quick action of security agencies, including the Police Commissioner, Nigeria Army, and Nigeria Immigration Service, for their decisive measures to protect the state. The incident remains under investigation as officials work to understand the purpose of the travelers’ movement.
