The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed a viral document circulating on social media which purported to recall police officers attached to VIPs back to base. The alleged directive, claimed to have been signed by “CSP Suleiman Abdullahi” of the 50 Police Mobile Force Squadron in Abuja, was described as fraudulent, with the Force clarifying that no such officer exists at the squadron and that the rank cited for the position is inconsistent with official practice.

While confirming that the legitimate implementation of the presidential directive to withdraw police officers from VIP assignments has commenced, the Police stressed that the process is being executed in a structured and phased manner to prevent any potential security gaps. Citizens were urged to disregard misleading publications and rely on verified sources, as the Force maintains its commitment to transparency, accountability and public safety.

As the official statement emphasized, the circulating document is “fake and should be disregarded by the public.
