A distraught mother in Borno State has appealed for urgent intervention as her 15-year-old daughter remains in Boko Haram captivity three months after she was abducted.
Speaking with deep emotion, the mother described the past months as “emotionally draining,” saying life has not been the same since her daughter was taken. She lamented that every day has been filled with fear, worry, and uncertainty about the teenager’s safety and wellbeing.
The heartbreaking experience underscores the ongoing trauma faced by families across the North-East, where Boko Haram continues to carry out abductions despite years of military operations in the region.
The mother called on government authorities, security agencies, and humanitarian groups to intensify efforts toward rescuing her daughter and other captives still held by the insurgents.
As the girl enters her third month in captivity, the family says they are clinging to hope that she will return home safely.
Efforts are expected to continue as communities in Borno and beyond renew their calls for stronger action against persistent insurgent attacks and abductions.
