Troops of the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), operating under Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have maintained relentless offensive operations across the theatre, achieving significant operational successes against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists as part of Operation DESERT SANITY V.

In Sector 2, joint operations between the military and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) resulted in the neutralisation of a number of terrorists during a night operation in the villages of Muktum and Ngirbuwa. Security forces recovered two AK-47 rifles, three motorcycles, and mobile phones from the area. Follow-up exploitation along the terrorists’ withdrawal route revealed drag marks and a shallow grave, suggesting additional enemy casualties.

Meanwhile, in Sector 1, troops engaged fleeing terrorists along the Bulayobe–Darel Jamel axis, near the Main Supply Route. The insurgents abandoned their positions and fled in disarray, leaving behind two sacks containing assorted logistics items believed to be intended for use by terrorist elements.

The general security situation across the theatre is described as calm yet unpredictable. Troops remain highly motivated and operationally effective, continuing to dominate their areas of responsibility and frustrate insurgent activities.

The Headquarters of OPHK reassured the public of its continued commitment to applying pressure on Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists, with the goal of restoring lasting peace and economic stability in Nigeria’s North East region.

The update was issued by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, on 14 February 2026.
