The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has declared a serving women leader of the pro‑Tinubu City Boy Movement wanted for alleged fraud, prompting the political support group to immediately suspend her and issue a rare public disavowal. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, 41, who serves as the South‑West Zonal Coordinator of the movement’s Women Wing, is now the subject of a nationwide manhunt after an EFCC notice accused her of obtaining money by false pretence.

The notice, signed by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, listed her last known address as House A26, Aso Grove Estate, Maitama Extension, Abuja, and urged citizens to report her whereabouts to any EFCC office nationwide or to the nearest police station.

The anti‑graft agency’s action is the culmination of a long investigation. Court documents seen by this reporter and media reports confirm that Tejuosho and a co‑defendant, Gidado Ibrahim, were arraigned in February 2026 at the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Maitama, on an amended six‑count charge of fraud, obtaining under false pretences and forgery to the tune of N603,400,000.

The prosecution alleged that between August and October 2024, the pair collected the sum from a victim, Oluseye Yomi‑Sholoye, by falsely promising to facilitate her appointment as Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). The charge included the allegation that Tejuosho and Ibrahim forged a document letter‑headed “Presidential Villa State House, office of the National Security Adviser” to lend credibility to the scheme. Tejuosho was granted administrative bail but reportedly failed to appear for her arraignment, and she has been “at large” ever since.

In a swift reaction, the City Boy Movement, a high‑profile support group that has campaigned vigorously for President Bola Tinubu’s re‑election, issued a statement distancing itself from the embattled official. The group announced Tejuosho’s immediate suspension as South‑West Zonal Coordinator of its women’s wing, “pending the full conclusion and resolution of the matter by the relevant authorities”.

In the statement, the movement declared that it maintains a “zero‑tolerance stance against misconduct, criminality, or any act capable of bringing the organization into disrepute”. The suspension, the group said, was “a necessary administrative measure to protect the image, credibility, and ethical standards of the Movement” and to allow the investigation to proceed “without interference, obstruction, or undue influence”.

Tejuosho’s troubles with the EFCC did not begin with the February 2026 court case. In June 2025, The Nation reported that she was interrogated by the commission following complaints that she obtained money from victims under the pretext of helping them secure federal government jobs and lucrative contracts.

A victim accused her of running an elaborate scheme that involved fake appointment letters and forged documents. She is the founder of Haleems Integrated Services Limited and also runs the Queen Adenike Tejuosho (QAT) Foundation, a humanitarian organisation. Before her present legal crisis, some groups had even appealed to President Tinubu to appoint her as Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

With the EFCC now actively seeking her arrest, Tejuosho has gone into hiding. The commission has called on the public to report any information regarding her whereabouts to its nearest office, including the Abuja headquarters, or to the nearest police station and other security agencies. The City Boy Movement, meanwhile, has made clear that it will not stand in the way of the law. “Every official of the Movement is expected to uphold the highest standards of character, responsibility, and public conduct,” the group stressed.
