The long-running feud between Nigerian rappers Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck has escalated dramatically, moving from social media war of words to the courtroom. Blaqbonez, whose real name is Emeka Akumefule, has filed a defamation lawsuit against his colleague and rival, Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, demanding ₦2.55 billion in damages over allegations of sexual abuse.
According to a legal memorandum dated July 7, 2026, and filed by Blaqbonez's lawyers, Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors, the suit accuses Odumodublvck of a "sustained campaign of defamatory online publications, harassment, intimidation, and threats" that have caused significant damage to the rapper's reputation and commercial interests. The legal action was initiated after Odumodublvck publicly labelled Blaqbonez a "sexual abuser" and a "sexual abusing bastard" in a series of social media posts on X (formerly Twitter).
Blaqbonez's legal team has described the allegations as "false, malicious, and defamatory," arguing that the publications exposed their client to public ridicule and caused serious harm to his reputation, emotional wellbeing, brand value, and business interests. The suit specifically accuses Odumodublvck of engaging in conduct that "damaged the rapper's reputation and commercial interests," with the legal document stating: "Our Client has suffered and continues to suffer significant loss and damage as a direct consequence of your unlawful conduct".
The lawsuit seeks several court orders, including a declaration that the publications are defamatory, a perpetual injunction restraining Odumodublvck from making further defamatory statements, an order for the immediate deletion of all offending posts, and a public retraction and apology to be pinned on his verified social media accounts for at least 30 consecutive days. Additionally, Blaqbonez is demanding ₦2 billion in general damages for injury to his reputation, an extra ₦500 million in aggravated damages for the "repeated and malicious" nature of the publications, and ₦50 million to cover the cost of the legal action.
The legal filing also references allegations of harassment, assault, battery, unlawful interference, and threats to Blaqbonez's safety, though these claims have not yet been tested in court. The lawsuit follows a dramatic escalation in the long-running feud between the two rappers, which has been simmering for years. In late June 2026, Odumodublvck publicly accused Blaqbonez of sexual abuse without providing evidence and challenged him to take legal action. Blaqbonez denied the allegations, describing them as false and defamatory, and vowed to seek legal redress instead of responding publicly.
The controversy has also revived public interest in a separate police petition filed against Blaqbonez in October 2025 by a woman identified as "Jane Doe," who accused him of cyber harassment, blackmail, and invasion of privacy. Blaqbonez has consistently denied those allegations, describing them as a plot orchestrated by a rival. At the time of this report, Odumodublvck has not publicly responded to the latest legal action. The matter now rests before the courts, where both parties will have the opportunity to present their cases. The lawsuit represents one of the most significant legal battles in the Nigerian music industry in recent years and is expected to draw considerable attention from fans and industry observers alike.
