Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO), formally submitted his nomination form for the 2026 Ekiti Governorship Election at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja yesterday.
The submission event drew a broad coalition of leaders and stakeholders, including former Governor Niyi Adebayo, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, current and former National Assembly members, former deputy governors, labour leaders, opposition leaders, as well as students, youth, and women groups. Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Ekiti State were also in attendance.
Notably, the Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2022 election, Hon. Bisi Kolawole, attended alongside members of the Osoko Political Family, underscoring a spirit of unity and political decorum.
Governor Oyebanji reaffirmed the cohesion of the APC in Ekiti, expressing appreciation for the support of party leaders, including all former governors of the state – H.E. Otunba Niyi Adebayo, H.E. Dr. Kayode Fayemi, H.E. Ayodele Fayose, and H.E. Engr. Segun Oni – as well as Senate Leader Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and other party elders.
He described the massive show of support as a reflection of the unity of purpose among Ekiti people and their desire for continuity, stability, and sustained development. Governor Oyebanji thanked all who stood by him during the nomination process and expressed confidence that, with continued prayers, support, and the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ekiti State would achieve greater heights in the years ahead.
