ADC Demands Immediate Reinstatement of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has urged the immediate reinstatement of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, stressing that her continued exclusion following a six-month suspension poses a direct threat to Nigeria’s democracy and undermines women’s participation in governance.

The party described the obstruction of her return as unjust and politically motivated, warning that silencing duly elected representatives sets a dangerous precedent for democratic institutions.

According to the ADC, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s reinstatement is not only a matter of justice but also a signal of Nigeria’s commitment to inclusive governance, particularly in ensuring that women have a strong voice in the political space.

The statement further emphasized that democratic stability requires respect for the electorate’s mandate and called on relevant authorities to act swiftly in restoring the Senator to her position.

In a firm declaration, the ADC stated: “We will not stand by and watch the will of the people trampled upon. Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was elected by her constituents, and any attempt to deny her representation is an assault on democracy itself.”
