
The Honourable Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Hon. Iliya James, actively participated in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward congress held on Saturday, 13th September, at Kpasham Ward, Demsa Local Government Area.
The exercise followed directives from Governor Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri during a stakeholders’ meeting on 11th September, instructing party faithful to return to their respective wards to participate in congresses across the state. In line with this directive, Hon. Iliya James, alongside other PDP stakeholders, witnessed and supported the electoral process at Kpasham.
In his remarks before the commencement of the ward congress, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of due process, transparency, and youth inclusiveness in the conduct of the elections. He encouraged participants to elect candidates who would uphold the principles and manifesto of the PDP.
The event drew a wide range of notable party leaders, including Mr. Kennedy B. Dauda, Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission; Mrs. Meriam D. Elkanah, Secretary of Demsa LGC; former LGA Chairmen Hon. James NB Okossi and Hon. Elisha Dan; Councilor of Kpasham Ward, Hon. Christiana Jairus; and Mr. Dennis Kakaba, among others.
The congress was conducted smoothly, reflecting the commitment of PDP stakeholders to strengthen grassroots democracy and ensure active political participation in the state.
