The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced a reduction in the pump price of petrol as fuel supply from the Dangote Refinery continues to stabilise across the country.

As of Saturday, the NNPCL adjusted the retail price of petrol at its outlets from ₦955 to ₦945 per litre, marking a ₦10 decrease. The revised price has already taken effect at NNPCL stations in key areas of Abuja, including Gwarimpa and Wuse Zone 4.

Other petrol marketers have followed suit, with stations such as Eterna Oil now selling at ₦945 per litre. The price drop follows weeks of nationwide fuel scarcity and price spikes caused by earlier supply disruptions at the Dangote Refinery.

Industry sources say the refinery’s improved output and smoother product distribution have eased supply pressures nationwide. However, analysts warn that fuel prices could climb again following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent approval of a 15% import tax on petrol and diesel — a policy they say may impact pump prices in the coming weeks.
