The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has affirmed that the recent passage of the Delta State Anti-Terrorism and Anti-Cultism (Amendment) Bill, 2025, underscores the government’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens.
The Speaker explained that the bill, which underwent a third reading and was passed after thorough scrutiny during plenary, provides law enforcement agencies with a more robust legal framework to effectively tackle terrorism, cultism, and other related crimes across the state.
“This amendment represents a firm declaration of our administration’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all Deltans,” Guwor said, highlighting the importance of the legislation in enhancing the state’s security architecture.
The law is expected to empower security operatives, streamline enforcement measures, and strengthen legal processes aimed at curbing violent crimes and promoting public safety throughout Delta State.
