The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Archbishop Daniel Okoh, has said the Church has no objection to the growing international scrutiny over attacks on Christian communities across the country.

Speaking on Tuesday, Archbishop Okoh noted that rising global attention to the persistent violence may be the decisive pressure the Federal Government needs to take concrete action.

He said Christian leaders are not opposed to international bodies raising concerns, stressing that such scrutiny is often triggered when domestic pleas for protection appear to go unheeded.

According to him, attacks on communities — particularly in areas repeatedly affected by killings and displacement — have continued for years without adequate intervention, making global pressure both expected and necessary.

Okoh urged the government to seize the moment to demonstrate seriousness in safeguarding citizens, ensuring justice, and restoring confidence among affected communities.
