The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) has taken a significant step to help a vulnerable family in Kano. Through its Rapid Response Team, KSCHMA has enrolled Fauziyya Hamisu Haruna, a widowed mother, and her four children into the State Health Scheme.

Fauziyya survived a fire accident over two years ago and has been battling long-term health problems ever since. She has struggled to care for her family without enough medical support or financial help.

Recently, the Rapid Response Team visited Fauziyya, checked her condition, and confirmed her ongoing health issues. Thanks to this intervention, her family now has free and continuous access to quality healthcare services at designated facilities across Kano, through the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF).

This initiative was approved by KSCHMA’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar. The agency is committed to providing quick, people-focused healthcare support, especially for widows, orphans, and families facing serious social and economic difficulties.

Fauziyya expressed her heartfelt gratitude, saying the support has given her renewed hope and relief after years of hardship and uncertainty in getting medical care.

KSCHMA has reaffirmed its promise to protect the health and well-being of vulnerable people across Kano State. The agency also encourages the public to report cases that need urgent health support so they can be helped immediately.

The campaign slogan is “KSCHMA Cares — One Voice, One Health, One Future.”

This update was issued by Aminu Ahmad Turaki, Public Relations Officer of KSCHMA.
