The Nigeria Police Force, working through the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) Abuja, has successfully taken custody of Victor Benjamin Fejemirokun, a suspect wanted for serious crimes.
Fejemirokun was handed over by the Ghana Police Service today in Accra, Ghana, after a coordinated multi-agency operation. The suspect had fled Nigeria following the abduction and suspected murder of an FRSC officer and her young daughter in Osun State.
Ghanaian authorities, acting on credible intelligence, located and arrested Fejemirokun within their jurisdiction and immediately notified Nigeria’s police. Reacting swiftly, INTERPOL NCB Abuja moved to Accra, where the suspect was officially handed over.
The Nigeria Police Force’s Inspector-General, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, expressed condolences to the victims’ families and assured that the investigation will be thorough and concluded promptly. He also confirmed that Fejemirokun will face prosecution once the investigation is complete.
The IGP praised the professionalism and cooperation of the Ghana Police Service, emphasizing Nigeria’s commitment to protecting its citizens and bringing offenders to justice, regardless of borders.
The Nigeria Police reaffirmed its dedication to strengthening international cooperation to combat transnational crime.
