Geneva — Tunisia’s trade and cultural potential took center stage during its Trade Policy Review (TPR) at the World Trade Organization (WTO), in a meeting presided over by WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Okonjo-Iweala welcomed Tunisia’s Minister of Trade, Samir Abid, and his delegation, praising their efforts in preparing for the review. She acknowledged that while progress has been made, further work remains in lowering trade barriers, and expressed the WTO’s readiness to support Tunisia in enhancing market access.

In addition to trade discussions, Tunisia hosted a cultural showcase, highlighting opportunities for diversified agricultural and cultural exports. The Director-General described the event as “very interesting” and thanked the Tunisian delegation for presenting a “fantastic art piece” to the WTO.

The review and associated cultural events underscore Tunisia’s ambition to strengthen its international trade profile while promoting its rich cultural heritage on the global stage.
