The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has launched a targeted Special Intervention Patrol along the Berger–Ogunmakin stretch of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, aiming to curb reckless driving and enforce highway discipline.

Led by Zonal Commanding Officer ACM Ann Oladayo, the operation involved collaboration with the Ogun Sector Commander, departmental representatives, Operations Heads, Corridor Command teams, and Intelligence Operatives. The highway was strategically divided into four enforcement zones, allowing swift monitoring and coordinated action.

A Mobile Court stationed at the Ojota Unit Command ensured that offenders were prosecuted immediately. During the exercise, FRSC recorded 126 traffic offences, ranging from speeding, overloading, tyre defects, to other mechanical violations. Remarkably, no road traffic crashes were reported throughout the operation, highlighting the patrol’s effectiveness.

The FRSC emphasized that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to restore road discipline, protect lives, and enhance safety along one of Nigeria’s busiest expressways.
