
Governor Malam Umar Namadi on Thursday visited Jahun Local Government Area as part of the ongoing Citizens Engagement (Gwamnati Da Jama’a) programme, receiving a warm reception from residents who lined the streets to welcome him and his entourage.
During the visit, Governor Namadi officially launched the construction of a 34.2-kilometer road connecting Idanduna, Kado Wawa, Gangawa, and Kwanar Olayinka. The project, valued at over ₦12 billion, is expected to improve connectivity and stimulate economic activities across the region.
The governor also supervised the distribution of empowerment items to residents, facilitated by Jahun Local Government Chairman, Hon. Jamilu Muhammad Danmalam. Beneficiaries received a range of goods, including golf saloon cars, sewing machines, grinding machines, and harrow equipment aimed at supporting small businesses and agricultural activities.
Officials and elected representatives presented two-year performance reports of their ministries and agencies, highlighting achievements and progress made within the local government. Community leaders submitted a comprehensive needs assessment, detailing priority areas for development and service delivery.
Governor Namadi, addressing the community, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to responding to citizens’ needs and improving livelihoods across Jahun LGA.
